ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates the ability to institute restorative practices to students who have received disciplinary consequences due to poor behavior. Demonstrates the ability to use data trackers in order to effectively assign and monitor restorative practices to students. Will be an active contributor to the schools Student Intervention Team (SIT). Demonstrates the ability to keep order and provide supervision to students that are assigned discipline. Demonstrates the ability to monitor student behavior and deal effectively with misbehavior according to school and district policies. Demonstrates the ability to perform remedial instruction or tasks to reinforce learning initiated by teacher. Ensures that all students who have been assigned discipline have meaningful academic work for the entire time assigned. Exhibits the ability to work with students, check their work for accuracy, understanding and neatness. Effectively maintains an accurate accounting of student attendance and equipment usage for students who have been assigned restorative practices. Demonstrates the ability to work closely with the In School Suspension Aide, teachers, and parents to institute effective restorative practices. Demonstrates the ability to monitor and adjust a plan of action depending on the situation. Operates general office equipment such as a computer, copier, laminator, and calculator. JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma; meets highly qualified standards as defined by NCLB Act of 2001: A two or four- year college degree preferred, 60 hours college credit from an accredited college, or passing score on the ParaPro Exam. A good knowledge of and understanding of child growth and development; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
